2010 Charlotte Mousel Scholarship

Charlotte Mousel,a dearly loved and respected Past President of CFRW Southern Division as well as a State and National President, symbolizes, with the words that she wrote, what we, as Republican Women, respect and feel. Charlotte exemplifies the dedication and committment of Federated Women. Southern Division's prestigious scholarship is named in honor of Mrs. Mousel. The scholarship is awarded to assist graduating seniors who demonstrate ability to think constructively on matters affecting our government.

Federation Women give freely of their "time and treasure" to support the ideals and values of Republican traditions. Within the Federation, we continue to debate all sides of issues in a free and open forum. The history surrounding the Republican Party from its birth under the tenure of Abraham Lincoln and its growth through many of our country's greatest Presidents can be seen expressed in our activities and involvements.

The Charlotte Mousel Scholarship is given every year by Southern Division to a young man or woman who exemplifies qualities of Citizenship and Scholarship.

The Charlotte Mousel Scholarship is specific to Southern Division. Named after a former well respected NFRW President from the Southern Division of California this yearly scholarship recognizes High School students through an essay contest. Charlotte Mousel believed strongly in our constitution and so this scholarship always uses the Constitution and its uniqueness as the subject matter.

After reading and evaluating the entries submitted for the Southern Division Charlotte Mousel Scholarship, the County Presidents unanimously agreed on the winners. It is never easy to pick just two winners among the seven applicants.
