NEW SOUTHERN DIVISION BOARD POSTION TO ASSIST CLUB TREASURERS
Martha House has been appointed Advisor to Club Treasurers, a new Southern Division Standing Committee Chairman position. She will assist the Club Treasurers with their reports so that we comply with the newly established (but not yet implemented) Internal Revenue Reporting and the New 527 Law. This was discussed at the January CFRW Winter Conference in Stockton.
If you were not there, you should get a copy of NFRW Finance Director Christine Oster’s Keeping Track of Your Money booklet.
She was asked to take this position so that we can begin to comply early rather than to scramble after the fact. She is working with Christine Oster, to better understand what treasurers will be required and the forms that will have to be filed once the new IRS requirements kick in.
HOWEVER, Martha is not a licensed tax expert. The word "tax" cannot appear anywhere in her title--so she is the Advisor to Club Treasurers and has already established a rapport with NFRW to get us on track. It is the first step in a project to have all clubs forms standardized---again to reduce our work-load and show professionalism.
